AR - Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality is reality enriched in a digital platform. We can use our smartphones to create augmented worlds and objects. It’s not like VR, in which you have a completely out-of-world experience using headphones and goggles. With AR, we’re still in touch with the real world, while digitally interacting.

AR is used in many different fields like education, entertainment, gaming and shopping. With the fast growth of technology, I believe that it’ll continue to be used and start to be used in different fields as well.

Let’s talk about our main topic, education. In a language learning class, AR can be used in many different ways. For example, a student can capture and create a 3-D image of an object that they love using the tool: Arize. They can show it to the class like it’s really there in class with them. Afterwards, the students can talk about their objects. Just like a show and tell activity, but enhanced with technology.

For this blog post, I’ve created a QR code for my own blog. You can try scanning it with your phone!
